Role of the product owner: "The product owner is responsible for guiding the direction of the product." Agile practice guide Product owners rank the work based on its business value. Product owners work with their teams daily by providing product feedback and setting direction on the next piece of functionality to be developed/delivered.That means the work is small, often small enough to be described on one index card. The product owner works with stakeholders, customers, and the teams to define the product direction. Typically, product owners have a business background and bring deep subject matter expertise to the decisions. Sometimes, the product owner requests help from people with deep domain expertise, such as architects, or deep customer expertise, such as product managers. Product owners need training on how to organize and manage the flow of work through the team."

I wish the question said, what should the PM do first. As a PM if you have a different prospective from different functional people of a company. First the PM should bounce the prospective of the outcome off of the charter and SOW, then schedule a meeting with the stakeholders to sort through the outcomes that do match the charter and SOW.

D In this situation, where team members from different functional units have different perspectives on the project outcome, the project manager should schedule a meeting with the stakeholders to determine a consensus regarding the outcome (Option D). This approach involves engaging directly with all relevant parties to discuss and align their expectations and perspectives. By facilitating a meeting focused on reaching a consensus, the project manager can ensure that the project is progressing towards a commonly agreed-upon goal, which is crucial in a cross-functional agile environment.

Selected Answer: A
In a cross-functional agile team, it's essential to align the project outcome with the project charter and statement of work (SOW). The project charter and SOW provide a clear definition of the project's goals, objectives, and scope. By referring to these documents, the project manager can ensure that the team's understanding of the desired outcome aligns with the agreed-upon project objectives. This helps in resolving any conflicting perspectives and ensures that the team is working towards a common understanding of the project's goals.

Selected Answer: D
Option A is incorrect because checking to ensure the project outcome aligns with the project charter and statement of work (SOW) may not address the different perspectives of team members from different functional units

Totally agree. The SOW is related with Procurement process. How is it related to the outcome definition.
