The program manager's attempts to reach the stakeholder via email also fail.
What should the program manager do next?

  • A. Escalate the issue to the stakeholder's supervisor
  • B. Escalate the issue to the program governance board, as delays will impact the program

Selected Answer: A
In this scenario, where a key stakeholder is unresponsive and this behavior could potentially impact the program, the next step for the program manager should be: A. Escalate the issue to the stakeholder's supervisor. Escalation to the stakeholder's supervisor is a direct and appropriate approach to address the lack of response. It allows for involvement from a higher authority who may have more influence over the stakeholder, potentially leading to a resolution. Given the stakeholder's significant influence and the potential impact on the program, it's important to address this issue promptly and effectively at the appropriate level of authority within the stakeholder's organization. This approach also demonstrates proactive management and escalation of issues that could adversely affect the program's progress.
