Direct communication (Option C) is the best approach because it respects the individual while reinforcing team expectations, creating an opportunity to resolve the issue without affecting the entire team.
Realistically, I think it's C. However, in PMI, you can also think of it as B. I think this problem is very difficult and troublesome from the examinee's perspective. It is very difficult for me to judge what the answer is.
- Directly addresses the issue: Ignoring the situation can be considered disrespectful to other team members and undermines the importance of the standup meeting.
- Provides an opportunity for understanding: A private conversation allows the project manager to uncover the reason behind the lateness and offer support if needed.
- Reinforces accountability: Reminding the team member of the ground rules for standup meetings emphasizes its importance and their individual responsibility.
- Maintains team dynamics: Ignoring the issue could cause resentment and disrupt team dynamics.
