D. Reserve analysis
When a project manager is determining the amount of contingency needed for a project, they are using "reserve analysis." Reserve analysis involves assessing and allocating contingency reserves to account for uncertainties and risks in the project. Contingency reserves are additional funds or time that are set aside to address unforeseen events or risks that may impact the project.
