Selected Answer: B
My answer is B because one of the key words i'm seeing is "Strict Time Constraints". Having an experienced team member to work with the new team member, will ensure the project is still going as much as it can. Option A will incur more Time and Cost. In case of the question, TIME. I'm frustrated with the recommended answer.

B has the word 'assign' and also 'on a daily basis,' which would take time away from other team member. A is also not a very good option but still sounds better than B

Selected Answer: B
In order to address the knowledge gap of the silent team member and mitigate potential impacts on productivity, the project manager should assign an experienced team member to work closely with them on a daily basis. This approach facilitates a direct and personalized transfer of knowledge, allowing the silent team member to grasp the technology solution more effectively. Additionally, the collaboration promotes team building, as working closely together fosters rapport and may encourage the silent team member to actively engage in discussions. Furthermore, the hands-on experience provided by the experienced team member contributes to skill development, ensuring that the silent team member can actively contribute to the project's success. Overall, this proactive step aims to enhance the team's collective knowledge and cohesion.

Selected Answer: A
A. Arrange formal training for this member to gain sufficient knowledge to reduce the impact on team performance. Providing formal training ensures that the team member has the opportunity to acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to contribute effectively to the project. This approach is structured, focused, and allows the individual to address their knowledge gaps in a systematic way. It is essential to support team members in gaining the required expertise rather than relying solely on informal methods. This approach is likely to enhance the team member's confidence and ability to actively participate in project discussions, ultimately improving overall team productivity.

Selected Answer: B
Given the information provided and the need to address strict time constraints: B. Assign an experienced team member to work with this member on a daily basis in order to become knowledgeable about the technology. This option seems to be the most direct way to quickly address the knowledge gap, even if it means reallocating resources for a short duration. However, the project manager should also monitor the situation closely and make further adjustments as needed to ensure project success.

Selected Answer: B
Option B allows for a more hands-on and immediate approach to address the team member's lack of knowledge without the time investment of formal training. By pairing the team member with an experienced colleague, they can receive guidance, have their questions answered in real-time, and gain knowledge through practical exposure to the technology.

I think A is better answer than B. It's also possible that experienced team member to be low performance because of work with this member and if is, it makes more impact to this stric time project.

Also, I don't like the word "assign" because it doesn't follow the trand of agile or working together, self-orgaznize team and etc which PMI focused on.

I'd go with option B. the question says--"the project has a strict time constraints" In a situation where the project has strict time constraints, formal training may not be the most practical solution. This can help the team member quickly gain the necessary knowledge to contribute to the project and meet the strict time constraints, and mentoring is one of the qualities of agile.

yes the key word is time constraint - by assigning another team member to work with this member is best solution to gain sufficient knowledge to reduce the impact on team performance, this is also consider a training

PMBOK 7th Edition 2.6.3 Quality, 2.6.3.1 Cost of Quality specifically states training first then mentoring. 3.5 Tailoring the Performance Domains, 3.5.2 Project Team bullet addresses special needs team members who will require special training.

The PM does not know if he really does not know anything or if he doesn't know how to speak up, without talking to the person and send him for formal training seems weird I would choose C and see if he speaks up first when given the opportunity

A is the correct answer. PM already determined (not guessed) that the resource has no experience with the technology. IN this situation it is best to just get him sufficient training that is needed for the project to be completed on time.

I disagree. The PM shouldn't come to such conclusion. Some people a knowledgeable but don't talk. I will go with C.

ok fine even if you are correct that PM should NOT come to such conclusion, the logical step is still not to have the team run a meeting that the PM MUST own and run. You do not turn over this meeting to the team regardless of need.
