An Implementation Engineer is planning to add a DirectFlash Shelf to a FlashArray//XL with an existing DirectFlash Shelf. Which PCIe slot must be used for shelf connectivity?
The FlashArray//XL uses 100 Gb NVMeOF RoCE to connect to the DirectFlash shelf via Ethernet cables: 2-Port 100Gb Ethernet card in the host PCIe slot 0 or PCIe slot 6. An //XL configuration supports up to two 2-port 100GbE cards for NVMe DirectFlash shelf connectivity. When configuring the //XL, one 100 GbE Ethernet card is installed in Slot 0, and then a second card is installed in Slot 6, if a second shelf is required.
So first shelf is installed in Slot 0, the second one must be installed in Slot 6
