Selected Answer: B
The question is asking for the overall solution (“how should the app builder approach it?”). It’s not asking “on which object should you create the field”. When we talk about “create a master-detail relationship between Asset and Asset Inventory”, we care about the relationship existing, not about where the field is physically created. In real-world solutioning, we only care about the relationship direction, not which side hosts the field in Salesforce Setup.

D is correct. If the Master-Detail relationship is already created A is the correct answer. But you can't add a Rol-up summary without the M-D relationship. B is incorrect because Asste should be the Master side of the relationship. C is incorrect because Junction Object isn't needed for the pourpose of this requirement. Why not B (M-D)?? The relationship is created on Child Object. Here (in this case it is Asset Inventory (Child) and Asset (Master). B. says relationship on Asset (Master) to Asset Inventory (Child). Hence B is incorrect answer

Read carefully it says "Create a master-detail relationship on Asset to Asset Inventory", meaning create the MD field on asset (which should be the parent). A MD or Lookup field is created in the child (Asset inventory). D is correct.

It didn't say MD field though. It simply said "master-detail relationship", it is not pertaining to a specific field, it is stating what kind of relationship those two object should have.
