Tabular: Similar to a spreadsheet Summary = Tabular + Group Rows Matrix = Tabular + Group Rows + Group Columns

Summary functions let you use grouping values in custom summary formulas for summary, matrix, and joined reports. There are two summary functions: PARENTGROUPVAL and PREVGROUPVAL.

Summary formula columns require at least 1 group. Tabular reports have no groupings.
