Snowflake automatically organizes data into micro-partitions, which are contiguous units of storage optimized for query performance. However, users can override Snowflake's natural clustering algorithms by defining clustering keys. Clustering keys allow users to specify one or more columns to reorganize data within micro-partitions, optimizing query performance and enabling efficient pruning of irrelevant micro-partitions during queries
