AIX is actually supported.
The documentation states that any OS supported by Splunk Enterprise works for Clustering.
Quote: "Search head clustering is available on all operating systems supported for Splunk Enterprise."
AIX is only supported for UFs, not Splunk Enterprise.

C is NOT correct, because there is no such requirement.
Splunk only recommends that all instances are running the same hardware specs, but does not require it.
