I would say A & B A is clear B a permanent data loss will be recovered immediately and automatically by vSAN, but meanwhile the affected objects are noncompliant to the policy. C that is the alarm itself, but not really a reason for the noncompliant status. D makes no sense E not possible anymore, every object gets at least the datastore default policy

I also agree with A&B - After hardware failure it could happen, that the storage policy is not compliant for an object
