Correct answer: A When you enable iSCSI target on VSAN, it will ask which vmk to use, and tells you that you can override it per target http://www.virtualizationblog.com/creating-iscsi-target-in-vsan-6-5

I think both A and B says almost similar statement. The only difference I observed is “may be” mentioned in A and “must be” in option B. A>> a separate VMkernel port may be configured per target. May be or may not depends on the infrastructure requirement. Whereas, B> A single VMkernel adapter must be selected for all iScsi targets; which is not necessary. We can either select one adapter for all the targets or multiple adapters for multiple targets,. . So I believe A should be answer.

B Seems to be correct Answer "VMware recommends creating a new VMkernel adapter for the vSAN iSCSI traffic" https://storagehub.vmware.com/t/vmware-r-vsan-tm-network-design/iscsi-setup-steps/

http://vhabit.com/configuring-vsan-iscsi-target-vit-in-vsphere-6-5/ "Choose iSCSI network from vmk ports. It can be vSAN, mgmt. or iSCSI vmk ports" Could share traffic, must not be a dedicated vmkernel interface. It does eliminate A option. I think B is correct

I correct myself, correct is A. It could share another service in VMKernel port but you can´t use the same vmk port in 2 different targets

B is the correct answer as all hosts MUST use the same VMKernel Adapter Port Number so for example all need to use VMK1 : https://storagehub.vmware.com/t/vmware-r-vsan-tm-network-design/iscsi-setup-steps/

I agree with you. B is the correct answer. One dedicated vmkernel adapter port for all iSCSI targets https://4sysops.com/archives/how-to-configure-esxi-6-5-for-iscsi-shared-storage/

I also agree. A VMkernel port per "Target" is insanely not practical and overstated. If that were the case, you'd have 2x or 4x VMkernel ports per LUN.

But B says: "A single VMkernel interface must be selected for all iSCSI targets". It does not say that must be the same vmk port number at all, only talks about single nic

I also think A "VMware recommends creating a new VMkernel adapter for the vSAN iSCSI traffic." See: https://storagehub.vmware.com/t/vmware-r-vsan-tm-network-design/iscsi-setup-steps/
