A company is implementing a new cluster to support its end user desktop workloads.
✑ The workload is required to support 200 virtual machines.
✑ Each end-user desktop is configured with two vCPUs, 8GB or RAM, and 40GB of thick-provisioned disk space.
✑ The architect has expressed concerns that virtual machine swap files will fill the 8.5TB datastore available to the cluster.
Which two strategies would address the architect's concern? (Choose two.)

  • A. Configure an additional datastore for snapshot storage.
  • B. Configure an additional datastore for vswap file storage.

Agree. A) No, Nothing to do with the swap B) Yes, Storing the swap file on another datastore will indeed ensure that they won't use space from the 8.5 TB datastore C) No, this would still fill the datastore as 4GB each will still be stored on the datastore (total of ~8.8TB) D) Yes, reserving all memory won't use any swap disk space at all

I feel that also A could be an option. If the storage is so limited, how snapshots will be used without having them on a separate datastore

Agreed, the 40 GB Thick provisioned drives is already 8 TB. Reserving 4 GB would still require 800GB at the total on the DS is 8.5 TB.
