A,B, and E (you have to chose transport zone to be able to create a segment -not optional-, and in the transport zone you are NOT specifying any vds type -mainly you specify if the zone is overlay or vlan-)

A & B are correct. VDS is tricky bc it depends on the TZ type: "Follow these guidelines during configuration: • N-VDS or VDS can attach to only a single overlay transport zone. • N-VDS or VDS can attach to multiple VLAN transport zones."

- A and E are definitely both correct - C is out of question, TZ can only be mapped to a single N-DVS - B or D, I am not too sure , but B is closer to the truth than D. TN scope is NOT defined by a given TZ because TN can belong to multiple TZs, unless it happens to belong to a single TZ. Meanwhile, a Segment will always be tied to a TZ, if not defined it will be tied to the default one (i.e. Overlay TZ).

Per my training guide from the vmware class: A transport node switch can be configured in the following ways: • - Transport nodes can be configured to use either N-VDS or VDS switches. - Transport nodes can be configured with multiple switches. So seems like C would be correct.

Did anyone try configuring a single ESXi Transport node, adding 2 N-VDSs, and assigning the same Overlay TZ? Then it appears successful, with 2 TEP IP addresses.

You can't create a Segment without a transport Zone. If you choose no transport Zone, it will be created with the default Overlay Transport Zone. You can't delete the default transport zone. So technical its not possible to create a segment without a transport zone
