Which option shows the expected result if a show vlan command is issued?
A.

B.

C.

D.

Show Suggested Answer Hide Answer
Suggested Answer: A
In this case, the port has been configured both as a trunk and as a switchport in data vlan 10. Obviously, a port can not be both, so even though Cisco IOS will accept both, the port will actually be used as a trunk, ignoring the switchport access VLAN 10 command.

Correct answer is A. With the configuration shown, answer B will appear IF Gig1/0/1 is in a down state. In this question, Gig1/0/1 must be in an "up, line protocol is up (connected)" state, making A the correct answer. I verified the both results in a test lab environment.

Although the interface is configured in trunk mode and the correct explanation, the right answer is B. See the example below using a Catalyst 3550: ! interface FastEthernet0/10 switchport access vlan 10 switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q switchport mode trunk switchport voice vlan 11 spanning-tree portfast !
