The interface is set to trunk unconditionally. The only time I have seen no response from show interface trunk is when the trunk has no line protocol and is down. Answer C is correct.
NO SORRY if unconditional the interface needs to be down for the output to be blank otherwise the port will go into inconsistent because of spanning tree
Agree. I've tried the simple topology in the PT:
SW1 fa0/1 <-> SW2 fa0/1
1. SW1: fa0/1 interface in trunk mode
SW2: fa0/1 interface in access mode
sh in tru on SW1:
SW1#sh int tru
Port Mode Encapsulation Status Native vlan
Fa0/1 on 802.1q trunking 1
Port Vlans allowed on trunk
Fa0/1 34,36,519
Port Vlans allowed and active in management domain
Fa0/1 34,36,519
Port Vlans in spanning tree forwarding state and not pruned
Fa0/1 519
SW2; int fa0/1 shutdown
sh int tru on SW1:
SW1#sh int tru
SW1#
The PT isn't a real equipment but in simple cases it works like a real network equipment.
If the other side is an access port the interface would not show in "show vlan" but it would show in "show int trunk" (just lab'd it with 2 3560s) So answer B doesn't make sense. Has to be C
Ans is C
interface is goes down.
