Which set of actions completes the configuration?

  • A. Enable option 35.
    Define HTTP transfer protocol.
  • B. Enable option 67.
    Define TFTP transfer protocol.

Selected Answer: B
It is B, could not be D because: Option 46 (NetBIOS Node Type): This DHCP option specifies the NetBIOS over TCP/IP node type, determining how NetBIOS name resolution is performed (e.g., broadcast, point-to-point, or a combination). This option is not relevant for specifying the boot file name or facilitating the POAP process.

HTTP isn't possible because it's TCP. Option 67 is required. See here: https://community.cisco.com/t5/other-data-center-subjects/poap-via-dhcp/td-p/2765022

Selected Answer: C
Option 67 is out as it states it uses HTTP and is paired with TFTP (Most voted here): POAP used options 66 and 67 for IPv4, and options 77 and 15 for IPv6 to extract the booting script information. However, the transfer of the script uses http, and is not very secure. Option 43 (Answer C): option 43 specifies the secure POAP related provisioning script information for IPv4 and option 17 specifies the same for IPv6. Additionally, these options allow the POAP to reach the file server in a secure manner. You can see Option 43 goes into configuring a network in this config guide and others stated is reasonable. Going to say C. myself. https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/dcn/nx-os/nexus9000/102x/configuration/fundamentals/cisco-nexus-9000-nx-os-fundamentals-configuration-guide-102x/m-using-poap.html#:~:text=not%20very%20secure.-,Beginning%20with%20Cisco%20NX%2DOS%20Release%2010.2(3)F,server%20in%20a%20secure%20manner.

Selected Answer: C
Option 35 is typically associated with ARP cache timeout and is not relevant for POAP. Option 67 is the Bootfile-Name option in DHCP, which specifies the name of the boot file but doesn't include POAP-specific directives. Option 43 is used in network configurations to specify vendor-specific options but it's not specifically for POAP. The correct option for initiating POAP in this scenario is: Option 46 which is specifically used by Cisco Nexus switches to initiate POAP. The DHCP response including this option would tell the switch where to obtain its configuration file and system image. Therefore, the correct answer is: D. Enable option 46. Define TFTP transfer protocol. This option correctly utilizes DHCP Option 46 for POAP and specifies TFTP as the transfer protocol, which uses UDP, thus meeting the requirement that only UDP is permitted between the Nexus 9000 switch and the server. This setup will allow the switch to automatically download its configuration and software image in accordance with POAP guidelines.
