It is C. Jason Dion has a practice question just like this one:OBJ-2.10: Since Dion Training wants to keep the wireless network open, the BEST option is to reduce the signal strength of the network's power level. This will ensure the wireless network can only be accessed from within its classrooms and not from the coffee shop next door. Changing the SSID won't prevent the coffee shop's customers from accessing the network. While MAC filtering could be used to create an approved whitelist of MAC addresses for all Dion Training's students, this would also require it to be continuously updated with each class of students that is very time-intensive and inefficient. Therefore, the BEST solution is to reduce the signal strength.

I AM GOING WITH - POWER LEVELS DUE TO THE FOLLOWING: In addition to carefully selecting the location of the WAP or Router, control the size of the coverage range by adjusting the power of the transmitting radio. This simple step will help avoid the pitfalls of having wireless data subject to compromise. This may be a newbie question to IT but... if you picked MAC Filtering (which is what I originally was thinking) how would you know the nearby company's MAC address to filter it out?

I leaned towards mac filtering (because everything is solved in comptia with mac filtering), I thought lowering the power level may cause blackouts in some spots in the workspace and it still doesn't fully solve outsiders using without permission. But you can't mac filter 24/7, because a vendor with his mobile phone, and another one with their tablet, you can't expect IT to know which device is next door and which is a new vendor, so yes dropping the power seems like the most simplest solution.

C. . Power levels is the most correct answer because the company is not concerned about security, they are most concerned about bandwidth. If security was an issue, the Mac filtering could have been the correct answer.

think of it this way, lower the power level, lower the range to connect to the network. tell the nearby company to come over during their lunch break to enjoy free WIFI suckers.

i think the reason mac filtering would not work is the inconsistency of the vendors devices. the vendor may not send the same person each time and you wouldn't want to add a new mac every time the personnel at the vendor changes

I like the MAC filtering. Add all vendor devices to a MAC filter and nobody else can get in.

but if u decrease the power levels the company may not be in range so i dont know both are good

and mac filtering ,filters just some of the devices, not all of them, well you can but it will be a lot easier if you just decrase the signal power

Why power levels though?

The higher the transmit power, the farther a signal can travel, and the more obstructions it can effectively penetrate.
