Third-party tools is the only option that works without changing any network configuration, like TeamViewer. RDP, VNC, SSH and telnet all require some level of network configuration like opening a port and port forwarding. If you have never used TeamViewer then give it a try as an example.

Teamviewer is an awful company and an awful piece of software. Lots of other better options.

Virtual network computer is the correct answer. This is an easy one. All other options allow you to configure network settings without needing elevated privileges. VNC is the only option that doesnt give the client administrative privileges.

D. Third-party tools such tools include TeamViewer, LogMeIn, and AnyDesk. They establish a connection to a server that both the technician’s and the client’s computers are connected to, which allows the technician to control the client’s computer remotely. These tools often use outbound connections, which can bypass the need for port forwarding or modifying network configurations.

If you connect to your local area network by using a virtual private network (VPN), you don't have to open your PC to the public internet. Instead, when you connect to the VPN, your RD client acts like it's part of the same network and be able to access your PC. There are a number of VPN services available - you can find and use whichever works best for you. In corporate environments, we use VPNs with remote control technologies, isn't it?

Shouldn't it be Third-party tools?

A would work because you would just need to turn on the Remote Access on the computer, connect to the VPN, and start up an RDC session to gain access. But a third party tool would be so much easier like Anydesk where you have the person install a small piece of software, enter a code, and you're in.

I swear none of these are right? lol surely all protocols will require port forwarding to make a connection to a computer in a different network?

E - Secure shell – enables login to the remote computer via SSH – no changes to the network configuration needed Not A - RDP - you need port 3389 open – but not allowed to forward any ports on the router to internal devices Not B – Telnet is not secure Not C – a “Virtual network computer” requires a VNC server and VNC viewer – we don’t know if there is a VNC setup Not D – Third-party tools – “not allowed to modify any network configuration”

Wouldn't you need to open port 22 for ssh?

...doesn't VNC require port forwarding to work remotely? Whereas third party tools like AnyDesk will establish a connection regardless of network setup?
