OBJ-3.2: Based on the symptoms, it appears that the system may be infected with malware. Therefore, it would be best to attempt to remediate the system by updating the anti-virus, performing a full system scan, and then verifying that the web browser and email client's settings are correct.

Once again, this makes no sense to me. If internet access is extremely slow or non-existent, how does the tech expect to be able to *download* the latest anti-virus updates? As I stated in question 36, if these are the types of questions that will be asked on a REAL exam, then I am SCREWED...

I know most the answers are base on what they want not on the experience that you have. I think whoever make some of this question base on the theory too much.

Virus definitions aren't that big I don't think. Think about large text book notes. Also, they don't mention rather the browser itself is what's running slowly. the virus could be utilizing a lot of ram however running in the background...but they didn't mention anything about that. I noticed comptia likes for you think as much about the information NOT provided as much as you would the information that is being provided. Hope that helps someone :/

It doesn't specifically say to download the definitions on that machine. In the steps for malware removal you are recommended to download the definitions on a clean machine then transfer via usb and install manually. The question asks what you would try NEXT, C and D don't make any sense. A could fix it as it could be an update problem but is a more intrusive fix. B can be attempted relitively quickly by checking a few settings and running an anti virus scan. If that didn't turn up anything then the next step would probably be A.

None are correct - they do not comply with the six steps of troubleshooting. 1. Identify the problem. ... 2. Establish a theory of probable cause. ... 3. Test probable cause theory to determine actual cause. ... 4. Establish an action plan and execute the plan. ... 5. Verify full system functionality. ... 6. Document the process. Step 1 - completed - problem identified Step 2 - incomplete - no theory of probable cause yet - tech jumps to step 4

Rethink this. ID the problem - done. Establish & test a theory of probable cause - very likely malware at this point. Establish an action plan to remove malware. At this point use your IQ DR. SEE acronym to remove malware. I - ID & research (already done) Q - Quarantine the infected systems - done or do it. D - disable system restore (do it & non-player in question) and then R - Remediate the infected system through updating the antimalware software, scan & use removal techniques in safe mode etc. BEST answer is B within the context of the troubleshooting theory, malware removal and context of the question.

Based on Json Dion's Tips from Udemy, when there is no single answer that makes sense you will need to just pick the one that makes more sense than the rest of the options.
