EAP-TLS (Transport Layer Security) provides for certificate-based and mutual authentication of the client and the network. It relies on client-side and server-side certificate

• EAP-TLS. This is one of the most secure EAP standards and is widely implemented. The primary difference between PEAP and EAP-TLS is that it requires certificates on the 802.1x server and on each of the wireless clients.

EAP_TTLS as well, wonder what is truly right. Stupid question, says nothing if server needs a cert. :/

they both are for wireless networks, both are for authentication with certificates (x.509). TTLS requires digital certificate on the server but not on the client. The client uses password for authentication. EAP TTLS uses a server-side digital certificate and a client side password for authentication.
