Ans D I think is correct. You are accepted into a Group, eg 'Sales' Group which gives you Sales Group Permissions (Authorization). Ans B is Authentication.

Answer is D I thought authorizations was inserting password that is wrong Okta has completed the acquisition of Auth0 Search our content Search okta logo Authentication vs. Authorization What's the difference between authentication and authorization? Authentication confirms that users are who they say they are. Authorization gives those users permission to access a resource. While authentication and authorization might sound similar, they are distinct security processes in the world of identity and access management (IAM). What Is Authentication? Authentication is the act of validating that users are whom they claim to be. This is the first step in any security process. Complete an authentication process with: Passwords. Usernames and passwords are the most common authentication factors. If a user enters the correct data, the system assumes the identity is valid and grants access. One-time pins. Grant access for only one session or transaction. Authentication apps. Generate security codes via an outside party that grants access. Biometrics. A user presents a fingerprint or eye scan to gain access to the system.

What is the primary different between AAA authentication and authorization? A. Authentication verifies a username and password, and authorization handles the communication between the authentication agent and the user database.

Definition per CompTIA guide: Authorization—determining what rights subjects should have on each resource, and enforcing those rights. The answer D seems the most appropriate out of all.

what it seems to me is one time passwords are authentication which is the first A in AAA but the question is asking for the second A which is authorization so D looks correct

other sites have B as an answer and it makes sense. The second A is Authorization and what better explanation can be given to authorization than giving access after entering a password? I can see why ppl may chose D but I think the BEST answer is B. loophole please provide proof instead of simply saying don't believe someone else's comments.

1. COM501B 2. CompTIA Review guide should help you. Try those books and your answer is in there. B is describing the first A in triple AAA. The second A is Authentication as suje commented above. The third A is ?? I'll let you figure that one out. This is all taught in Network plus. If you are going to state incorrect answers that clearly make no sense your going to be called out. There are people in here giving wrong answers on purpose. Hopefully you aren't one of those.
