Selected Answer: B
Out-of-office is turned on. Explanation: Joe isn’t receiving emails over the weekend, which suggests that his account is functioning normally during the week but not over the weekend. Productivity software is working fine, and no other users are affected, so it’s likely not a system-wide issue like Internet connectivity (C) or SMTP service failure (D). An OS update failure (A) would more likely impact the entire system, including productivity software, which is working. If Out-of-office is enabled and misconfigured (e.g., set to auto-ignore or divert weekend emails), it could prevent messages from being received or seen as expected.

the IP address expired. The DHCP server was never asked to lease a new IP address because the computer is running 24/7. This is the only reasonable reason.

how would the answer be out of office if you did not turn it on. and even if you did turn it on by accident you would still get the email but it would just auto reply. it's definitely internet issue

You receive emails when OOO set. Its a function to let the senders know your are OOO not to stop receiving emails. SMTP can be disregarded as the issue is about receiving emails not to send. Internet connectivity issue affects others too. As the PC has been on, OS update mustve been run and failed. I guess this is the only reasonable choice here. A. There is an OS update failure. B. Out-of-office is turned on. C. There is an Internet connectivity issue. D. SMTP services are not running.

Guys, "did not receive emails over the weekend like he usually does", means the past weekend he is ok, so should not be OOO?

But it also says he always leaves all his applications open, and never logs off his work PC. Yet he normally DOES get emails. I think most of the question is bait to be honest, the only 'new' variable is the fact he's not getting emails. So it could be due to him being somewhere he normally isn't, poorly worded question again though.

I think it's B. Out-of-Office is an auto-response feature in Microsoft 365 main. https://www.wikihow.com/Turn-On-or-Off-the-Out-of-Office-Assistant-in-Microsoft-Outlook

The wording counts here -- an Internet connectivity issue is MORE likely to happen than SMTP services being turned off!
