I would stick with C. The question says, "the contents" of all corporate machines - not just preventing unauthorized access. To me this would need to include HD encryption, scheduled system and AV updates, IDS, ect. to remain compliant. All these things can be tracked by an endpoint server that would flag non-compliant machines.
