To prevent a router from being added to a botnet and enhance its security, consider the following measures: 1. Change Default Credentials: Many routers come with default usernames and passwords, which are often well-known and easily exploited by attackers. Change the default credentials to unique, strong ones to prevent unauthorised access. 2. Update Router Firmware: Regularly update your router’s firmware to patch security vulnerabilities. Newer firmware versions often include security enhancements and bug fixes. However, keep in mind that some older routers may not receive updates, so consider upgrading to a more recent model if necessary.

Remember that securing your router is crucial for protecting your entire network. Implementing these steps will help reduce the risk of your router being compromised by a botnet or other malicious actors. Additionally, consider other practices such as disabling unused ports, monitoring network traffic for anomalies, and using antivirus software to further enhance security. C & D is correct.

I understand C but why D? My other choice would have been B

I think because it's a SOHO network, there shouldn't be any need to use Enterprise-level gear. It's all about securing a simple home-use router. Updating firmware would prevent botnets from exploiting vulnerabilities in previous firmware versions. That's my thinking anyway...
