The Set-SRPartnership cmdlet modifies a replication partnership between two existing replication groups. You can use this cmdlet to add replicated volumes. You can also CHANGE THE DIRECTION OF REPLICATION which makes a source volume into a destination volume.

To further explain why the answer is correct: By changing the direction of replication with Set-SRPartnership, the destination volume, on server2, becomes the read-writable "source". Under normal operation, that "destination" volume in Server2 is completely inaccessible by normal means. Another way to access it, besides the solution, seems to be to stop SR completely.
