You are a Dynamics 365 for Customer Service administrator. You need to deactivate entitlements. When should you deactivate entitlements? Each correct answer presents a complete solution. NOTE: Each correct selection is worth one point.
A.
A customer's entitlement has ended and no more support is desired.
B.
A customer renews an entitlement for 100 more hours or one year.
C.
A customer calls and wants to know how many hours of support remain.
D.
The customer must change remaining support hours from all email support to one-half email support and one-half phone support.
E.
You need to add notes to the customer's entitlement.
indeed. Test it first. The only "edition" you can do while the entitlement is active is removing one type of support, but not edit the amount of units. Answer is for me B D.
A is definitely out, as per https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/customer-service/create-entitlement-define-support-terms-customer#activate-or-deactivate-an-entitlement. It says:
"If the end date is in the past, the entitlement is set to Expired."
It further says:
"When an entitlement is active, you can’t edit it. To deactivate an entitlement so you can edit it, on the command bar, select Deactivate."
This leads me to believe that D would require deactivation.
The scenario that is less clear to me is B. Looking here https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/customer-service/create-entitlement-define-support-terms-customer#renew-an-entitlement, it says:
"To renew a canceled or expired entitlement, open the entitlement, and then on the command bar, select Renew."
I believe then as long as the current entitlement has expired, there is no need to deactivate the entitlement to renew into a new one. So probably B is out.
Based on the above, I would assume the correct answer is therefore just D.
A: Is wrong. If the entitlement is ended it is already deactivated.
B: Is wrong. You can only renew entitlements that are expired or canceled. I actually did try this.
D: Correct if you want to change the ' Total Terms' of an entitlement you need to deactivate the entitlement
E: Also wrong notes are being added to the timeline and thus can be added while the entitlement itself is readonly.
For B I think the terminology 'renew' is throwing people off. The customer wishes to increase their entitlement terms, i.e. increase the number of support hours. The only way to do that is to deactivate the entitlement, update the terms and activate again. This is not about renewing an expired or canceled entitlement. Its about updating the terms of an active entitlement.
Answer is B&D
I m sure that b is correct, to renew entitlement, system cancel the first (tested)
D is correct : New Entitlement Channels" only becomes available when entitlement is deactivated first.
The answer is correct. It is D & E. In order to change anything on an entitlement one must deactivate it. Both D and E requires deactivation of the Entitlement. It is definitely not B. Usually once the Entitlement is expired and a user needs to renew it. It will create a copy of the old Entitlement for you to adjust the dates, etc.
B is not possible, because there are only 5 states: Draft, Waiting, Active, Expired, Cancelled.
I tried to renew the Entitlements, but the system returns this as an error:
You can renew only the entitlements that are expired or canceled.
You can deactivate only entitlements that are active or waiting.
So , you don't have to deactivate an entitlement to renew it.
Not A: as its automatically deactivate after the expiration time over.
B: Because you cant add any hours or time without deactivating it first.
Not C: its just the visual confirmation, no need for deactivation.
D: Again same as B
Not E: you can definitely add notes without deactivating Entitlement.
So B & D only
For B, the question answer suggests the entitlement is already in a deactivated/expired state in order for someone to renew the entitlement. I would say only D for the reason that its not possible to deactivate a already deactivated/expired entitlment.
I can add notes when entitlement is activated, but can not change Description, Description is different than notes, so do not miss between them, The answer is only D
Answers should be B and D.
B - tested
Had to deactivate first to make changes to the date and/or hours.
D - tested
Had to deactivate to amend Entitlement Channels. "New Entitlement Channels" only becomes available when entitlement is deactivated first.
E - tested
Can add a note whilst activated. Did not need to deactivate to do this.
Correction to my comment on Option B. Changes the dates so that status becomes expired. Then the Renew button shows. There is no option to Deactivate. So only valid answer here is D.
The question also doesnt mention to choose more than one answer otherwise it would have stated so.
