Guys relax..... Question said " LEAST BENEFIT " not " MOST BENEFIT" ... As EFS files will be encrypted it will be 0% affected by duplication. Nothing here is as less than 0%. So, undoubtedly least benefited option is EFS / Option A / Folder 1 ....

I think C is correct. Please refer to fpllowing a link which says "Encrypted files are tough to dedupe " https://searchdatabackup.techtarget.com/tip/Compression-deduplication-and-encryption-Whats-the-difference "Compression, deduplication and encryption: What's the difference?" Just think what would happen if you zip the files: - EFS encrypted have a lot of 'garbled'/diiferent bytes and therefore very unsuitable for compression - VHDX files with Windows 10 have a lot of data in common, so very good for compression - Uncompressed BMP files have a lot of the same bytes, so are very good for compression - Office files do have the same bytes, so 'some' compression is possible So A is the correct answer

Exactly, the fact that it cannot be done on an EFS encrypted folder 1 means there is zero benefit, therefore the least benefit. Even if you discount the EFS part office documents as pointed out above give you the least benefit from dedupe due to their small size. So as you say C is the correct answer.

Question states. what benefits the LEAST from Data duplication. You just answered what gave the MOST benefit. Re-read the question.

Just to be clear: The space savings that you can gain from Data Deduplication depend on the dataset or workload on the volume. Datasets that have high duplication could see optimization rates of up to 95%, or a 20x reduction in storage utilization. The following table highlights typical deduplication savings for various content types: Scenario Content Typical space savings User documents Office documents, photos, music, videos, etc. 30-50% Deployment shares Software binaries, cab files, symbols, etc. 70-80% Virtualization libraries ISOs, virtual hard disk files, etc. 80-95% General file share All the above 50-60% The only correct answer is C.

I agree with you. Data deduplication is more efficient on VHD file, and it ins't working on files with efs protection. So the answer A is wrong.
