c ist correct. The Typeo vXd instead of vHd is confusing: Shared VHDX Requirements: The disk type must be the VHDX type. VHD disks are not supported So you need to convert first

The given answer is correct. You need to make a "VHD Set" so the VMs can share access to a virtual disk for applications like SQL. Since you have a ".vhd" file now, you need to convert it to a ".vhds" file. So, yes, Convert-VHD.

The format is determined by the file name extension of the specified files, either .vhdx or .vhd.
