Correct answer is B, we cannot modify the counter so it is required to create a new alert counter.

I agree. I tried modifying a data collector in my own server but couldn't do so. Adding a new one is the way to go.

Yes, I would agree. You need to create a new data collector set as an 'alert type' - you can't convert from a data collector without alerts, to a data collector with alerts.

I agree with Dean and RickSk. Based on their comment I believe that once data collector is created, it can't be modified. If you want to modify it, it may be needed to delete it and then add new one.
